Key Calendar Dates: The brief

Our client tasked us to create a suite of digital and print assets to highlight key dates during the Q1 period, promoting activity within Greene King pubs.

Q1 2023 was predicted to be an exceptionally difficult trading period in the hospitality industry, due to being in the middle of a cost of living crisis and also falling straight after Christmas.

The aim of the campaign was to promote activity in pubs such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day but also to highlight other key activities which may not be automatically associated with pubs such as Veganuary and Dry January.

The process

With approximately 120 different items to create across four different brands, the collateral list for this project required careful management. Consideration needed to be taken to ensure the branding was correct for each asset and also the messaging and tone of voice were suitable for each audience.

The campaign needed to promote not only local activity but include imagery of food and drink items bespoke to each brand. This wasn’t a one size fits all campaign. The client also required further collateral to support the pub teams, including a branded wall planner for teams to display back of house and a branded team brief.
